The Directors of Abacus Clinic are commited to the provision of a person centred, person focused and person led service.
They are innovative, creative and proactive and agree that the provision of dementia care is experincing a very positive transition.
Caring for both younger and older people who are living with dementia is shifting from the medicalised approach towards a more social, psychological and psychosocial one. The Directors continue to develop the person centred approach developed by the late Professor Tom Kitwood and are driven by his earlier work.

Our aim is that this site, and services offered through it, are made available nationally, internationally and globally. Our philosophy is one of positivity with a great belief that having dementia is not all doom and gloom!
